Volunteers make a difference at the Ranch by helping a boy with his homework,
listening to a boy read, being a friendship family, or by helping with our
mailings, special projects and arts and crafts.
Our volunteer coordinator, Linda, is a liaison between the staff and the volunteer force.
She places volunteers where their talents can best be utilized. If you would like to volunteer or have any
questions regarding the volunteer program, please call Brian at 448-1099.
Friendship Family Program
Morning Star is looking for families interested in becoming a "friendship family" for our boys.
Families would need to be able to make a consistent commitment to the assigned boy.The commitment
would vary, depending on the individual needs of the boy. For some boys it could be once a week.
For others it might be once a month.
Goal of the program is to provide boys a view into healthy family interactions and to participate in
family-life activities.
The most important aspect of this is a families commitment to be consistent to the Morning Star boy.
All family members must be willing to make this commitment to the program and to required training.
Families participating in the program will be teamed with a Morning Star social worker who will provide
necessary support for the family and the boy.
